
Steven Feinberg

Steven M. Feinberg is a national security and intelligence leader with 26 years of experience advising senior U.S. Government leaders on global security challenges. He serves in the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Intelligence and Research (INR), where he has led executive intelligence support for Department leadership and currently works as lead Russia foreign policy analyst on detail to INR’s European Office. Previously, he served as Division Chief for Near East Analysis, overseeing intelligence on Iran, Iraq, and the Arabian Peninsula, and as Executive Director of the Department of Homeland Security’s Border Security Office, where he led efforts to counter the flow of illicit fentanyl into the United States. His experience spans European security, Gulf and Middle East affairs, energy disruptions, crisis response, and cross-border networks. He holds an M.A. in International Affairs from George Washington University, and started his career in journalism.
