Viorel Nitu is the deputy head of the General Directorate for Strategy and Processes Management within The National Agency for Tax Administration. 

He has been working within the Agency since 2004 and for the most part of this period he acted in the international cooperation area. He acted as the Romanian Competent Authority for exchanging information for almost 10 years, being the single point of contact in Romania for the European Commission concerning administrative cooperation. He was also the representative of Romania in the Peer-Review Group of the OECD and also the coordinator of the Romanian Assessor Team participating in reviewing and assessing other jurisdiction’s tax systems around the world. 

Subsequently he held the position of Deputy General Inspector of the Tax Anti-Fraud Unit bearing responsibilities in the e-commerce area and freight movement. His current position allows him to concentrate on the processes improvement and re-engineering of work-flows of the Agency. Apart from his professional life Viorel tries to fuel his passion for history and geopolitics.
