
Vlad Dan Roman
AYLP Fellow 2020-2021
Vlad is a young professional with a strong interest in EU affairs, focusing on the Union’s policy and regulatory systems, as means of fostering better market structures and innovation.
Vlad has joined diplomatic services shortly before Romania began holding the Council of the EU rotating Presidency and chaired one of the expert-level working groups. Previously, he has worked as expert and case-handler for antitrust cases at the Romanian Competition Authority. Besides his professional activity in law enforcement, public policy and regulatory affairs, Vlad published several academic contributions in various law journals. He is an alumnus of both Lund and Malmö Universities, having received his LL.M in European Business Law (with distinction) respectively M.A in Global Political Studies from Sweden. During the early years of law studies at UAIC Iași, he also benefited from a scholarship in the United States, for exchange courses.
Vlad has always reached out to like-minded communities to support and advance good society values. To this extent, besides his professional path, these engagements include, besides the Aspen Young Leaders journey, other leadership programmes (Leaders for Justice), community service (Rotaract International) and think-tank contributions.
