On May 5-7, 2022, Aspen Institute Romania organized in Snagov the 4th edition of the Custom Healthcare Socrates Seminar, a leadership seminar developed in partnership with the Aspen Institute – Socrates Program, under the framework of the Aspen Healthcare & Quality of Life Program.

Having as its main theme The Future of Public Health: Building a More Resilient Post Pandemic System, the seminar explored the resilience of healthcare systems and key challenges in public health, looking to develop best practices for the Romanian health system.

On the last day of the seminar, we received the visit of Univ. Prof. Dr. Alexandru Rafila, Minister of Health in Romania, who engaged in a lively conversation with the participants on the topics approached by the Seminar.

The Seminar was moderated by Katherine E. Bliss, senior fellow and Director, Immunizations and Health Systems Resilience, with the CSIS Global Health Policy Center and Vlad Mixich, Aspen Alumnus, health policy expert working for the European Investment Bank’s Project Advisory Support Unit.

Using the Aspen method of creating a group as diverse as possible in terms of professional sectors (private, public, non-profit), gender, political affiliation, the Seminar gathered around the table participants connected to or working in the healthcare system.
