Beatriz Camacho-Ávila is the Ecosystem Manager for the Regional Innovation Scheme in Southern Europe at EIT Climate-KIC (European Institute of Innovation and Technology).  She is accountable for orchestrating ecosystems that foster favourable environments and frameworks for the ecological transition in seven countries (Portugal, Greece, Cyprus, Malta, Slovenia, Croatia, and Serbia), nurturing the demand for system transformation through education, entrepreneurship, and innovation programmes. She is a senior project manager and before her career in climate innovation she was a Political Science professor and did academic research (PhD) in political representation and social research techniques. She has a keen interest in building alliances among research, education, business and governmental actors, cross-sector cooperation and pilot initiatives to build green and just economies. Since May 2021, she is a Fellow at The Aspen Institute with the NextGeneration Transatlantic Initiative. She is currently based in Valencia (Spain).
