Florin Stancu is the General Director of the General Directorate for Social Assistance and Child Protection Dolj and in this capacity he fulfills the following main attributions: he performs the duties of the General Directorate as a legal person; he draws up the draft budget of the General Directorate and the account for the closure of the budget year; he coordinates the development process of the social services development strategy and the annual action plan; he coordinates the elaboration of general reports on social assistance, the state of implementation of the strategies and he proposes measures to improve this activity; he elaborates proposes for approval to the county council the structure of employees for the General Directorate; he appoints and he dismisses the employees of the Directorate General, according to the law.

Before joining the General Directorate for Social Assistance and Child Protection, he worked as a legal advisor to the Sanitary Veterinary Directorate (1999-2003), he was Director of the County Sports Club „Universitatea Craiova” (2003-2006). He was also the prefect of Dolj County (January-October 2009) and Public Administrator at Dolj County (June 2013-April 2014).

He graduated from the Faculty of Law at University of Craiova in 1998, completed his Master degree in Modern Governance and Local Development (2005) and PhD in History (2013).

Florin Stancu is a fellow of the first edition of the Aspen Public Service Leadership Program, organized between 2018 and 2019.
