Mihaela Dache
Fellow 2022
During her 19 years of activity in the field of European funds, Mihaela has spent 14 years performing control and verification tasks related to the management of European funds granted to Romania under the EU Cohesion Policy. These funds are key instruments for reducing economic, social, and territorial disparities between regions in EU Member States.
She began her career as a European Integration Counselor within the Ministry of European Integration, where she participated in the development of the ministry’s specific action plans for the negotiation chapters during Romania’s accession to the European Union.
As Head of Unit, Director, and General Director of the unit responsible for identifying and addressing irregularities within the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Administration, she gained extensive experience in the protection of EU financial interests by collaborating with nationally competent institutions.
Since 2017, in her role as Deputy General Director and Director within the Ministry of European Funds, Mihaela has been responsible for coordinating the structures involved in verifying eligible expenditures and public procurement related to European projects. Her main priority has been to ensure rigorous financial management in the implementation of projects with European and national financing from both the public and private sectors.
