Commander Neville McNally joined Britannia Royal Naval College, Dartmouth, from Ireland in 1986 to become a Naval Logistics Officer. Sea training was in the minehunter HMS BRONNINGTON and the aircraft carrier HMS ARK ROYAL. Later he served at sea in the frigate HMS SHEFFIELD; the forward repair ship RFA DILIGENCE; the aircraft carrier HMS INVINCIBLE; the oceanographic survey ship HMS HERALD; and the destroyer HMS YORK.

He served on operations in the 1991 Gulf War; enforcement of ‘No Fly Zone’ in Iraq in 1998; the Iraq War in 2003; and Afghanistan campaign in 2007 and 2013.

Neville’s staff appointments included the Battle Staff of Commander UK Amphibious Forces; the UK Permanent Joint Headquarters; the EU Headquarters for counter-piracy operations in the Horn of Africa (which he helped establish); and Fleet Operations Headquarters.

During breaks from operations, Neville was project manager for a pilot logistics information management system which now supports all UK forces. In 2013 he joined the Directing Staff at the UK Defence Academy. He arrived in Romania in 2017 as the UK Defence Attaché (initially was also the Non Resident Defence Attaché for Moldova).
Neville has masters degrees in Defence Logistics Management from Cranfield University and Defence Studies from Kings College London.
